Seegrid is recruiting a Director of Quality and Compliance. The ideal candidate will be responsible to oversee Quality Control & Quality Assurance activities, the Quality Management Systems (QMS), assure compliance to regulations across the global business and all audit and inspection activities. The individual will be leading the activities to develop the culture, policies and processes for Quality and Compliance. Seegrid seeks a data driven approach to support breakthrough improvement activities within the business. The role will have responsibilities for the current and future company locations worldwide. The successful candidate is expected to be an influential member of the Seegrid Leadership Team, interact effectively with all levels of the corporation, and effectively communicate with the customer base.

This role is expected to interface with employees, suppliers, and customers in our rapidly growing industry. It will be key to be actively involved with all Seegrid functions, as well as customer and supplier factory processes to help improve design & manufacturing quality operations and guide resolution of issues.


The successful completion of your first year, looks like:

  • Within your first 30 days, you will have assessed the existing Quality and Compliance functions within Seegrid, establishing a current baseline, and devised an enhancement strategy to include proposed organizational structure, key processes and resource needs.
  • Within your first Quarter, you will have implemented the enhanced Quality System framework for multiple pilot programs/projects to determine what modifications to initial strategy are necessary prior to full implementation. Further execution of the system, as well as any changes, should be supported by metrics as compared to previously established baseline.
  • By your 6th month, you will have restructured and rebranded our QMS to a LEAN based Enterprise Excellence System for full rollout in an effort to make Seegrid a brand of choice for our customers while still accelerating our development of enterprise grade products and services.
  • By the completion of your first year, you will have evidence of a healthy and operating LEAN based Enterprise Excellence System (QMS) with audited results showing compliance to ISO9001:2015 or equivalent. You will also have a data-driven Quality and Compliance organization that is leading and demonstrating continuous improvement of Seegrid’s product and service quality in the eyes of customers; reducing their time to value.


Responsibilities: Quality Assurance, Quality Management Systems, and Compliance:

  • Train and manage your team to participate on cross functional design and development teams as we develop new products and processes to support our growing business.
  • Increase the organizational knowledge and application of statistical quality tools to support the elimination of the variation in our processes that lead to defects. Improve our statistical process control so that Seegrid can be a data driven organization.
  • Launch products while improving quality and reliability;  drive to the best possible DPPM in the shortest time not to exceed 2 years.
  • Work to eliminate the costs associated with poor quality (COPQ) throughout the organization and supply chain.
  • Support supply chain efforts to qualify and improve existing and new vendors.
  • Ensure that our quality objectives are identified, monitored, reported, and achieved in support of our customers' and industry requirements.
  • Ensure that significant quality risks within our new and ongoing products and processes are identified and mitigated through effective controls.
  • Lead the Quality Management and Compliance functions to include Quality Control, Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance (Verification and Validation) and Product Compliance/Safety. 


Leadership and Organization:

  • Responsible for inspiring, mentoring, delivering career guidance, and building meaningful and lasting professional subordinate relationships to positively influence the direction of the company.
  • Oversee QMS qualifications, support hosting on site audits, drive timely and acceptable creation of verification & corrective action results with customers as appropriate.
  • Assess & Coordinate QMS alignment & improvement activities across locations to assure efficient execution of compliance to ISO9001, and relevant product compliance regulations (i.e. ANSI B56.5, Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, etc.).
  • Develop and nurture a 3 to 5-year cohesive scalable vision of the department within the corporation supporting the detailed development and subsequent strategic plans supported by justification of department budgets and application of effective fiscal management to the approved budgets.


Constructive conflict resolution and Communication:

  • Demonstrated critical thinking capability and executive decision making with communications commensurate with audience
  • Ability to apply Lean Principles in the organization including describing the current state of a complex integrated organization and proposing re-engineering scalable processes including outlining the talent needed to bring the organization thru breakthrough to the future desired state.


Required skills, education and experience:

  • ~10 years of experience with clear understanding of the elements of ISO 9001 QMS processes (or equivalent).
  • Certification through nationally recognized associations such as ASQ or RAPS a plus.
